Ozil upgrade

Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil is in line to be handed a pay-rise amidst speculation suggesting his future could lie away from north London.

According to reports, Arsene Wenger will hand the German playmaker an upgrade on his £140,000-a-week wages, as the club make inroads towards extending the contracts of several first-team players.

A salary increase for Ozil would make him Arsenal’s highest paid player, but since his current deal doesn’t expire until 2018 there’s plenty of time to negotiate.

That said, he has been linked with Turkish giants Fenerbahce, so the next few months will be interesting.

Flamini's offering

Moving on, Mathieu Flamini has dedicated his superb brace against Tottenham Hotspur last night to Gunners fans.

The Frenchman’s two strikes enabled Arsenal to trump their north London rivals at White Hart Lane, and Flamini said it was important that he celebrated with those who have supported him throughout his career.

Elsewhere, Arsenal supporters could face an investigation as a result of fans destroying hoardings at White Hart Lane last night, according to reports.

A number of fans are to be targeted by the police, with criminal damage, assault and public disorder offences the issues at hand.
