One simple question to start with, Who is Kevin Owens?

Amazing track record

You could answer this in two ways. You could simply say that he is a wrestler or maybe with some respect, you can tell that he is a former NXT Champion.

Let me tell you the other way of looking at him. The man who defeated John Cena in his very first WWE match; the man who became the Intercontinental Champion in just four months after his WWE debut; the man who held the NXT title for 143 days within an year of his NXT debut and finally the man who has been wrestling for the past 15 years for various wrestling promotions!

Kevin Owens as the Champion

At the Night of Champions PPV, Owens defeated Ryback in a singles match and became the Intercontinental Champion. This was the first title that Owens won in WWE on the main roster. So, does it make any difference? A big yes! Kevin Owens as the Intercontinental Champion is something different when compared to someone else holding the same title.

Guys who have held the Intercontinental Champion title on the last two occasions were babyfaces, Daniel Bryan and Ryback. Come to Night of Champions, and we have the best heel of the company now the champion.

Also, he's the most dominant mid-carder of the roster today. With guys like Cesaro, Neville, Rusev, and Ryback, the competition for Owens will be great. Let's hope that he rises to the occasion and elevates the pride of this prestigious title.

Company expectations

WWE certainly has a lot of expectations on him, and this guy has the potential to become a main event star. It is now the responsibility of the WWE creative team to book Owens in an impressive way. Interesting storylines should be built around this guy and he should be rewarded for his talent.

Good luck Owens!
