The NFL season has given us a fair few shocks already this season and arguably the only shock going into the Thursday night football game between the New York Giants and Washington Redskins was that the Redskins were the team with a win next to their name.
That changed tonight though as Washington were filled with errors and the Giants led by quarterback Eli Manning got a 32-21 win.
A night of receivers
It was a tale of two quarterbacks tonight as Manning threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns while Kirk Cousins for the Redskins threw for 316 yards with one touchdown but two interceptions.

Both quarterbacks had good passing yardage to their name but the game will be remembered for some of the incredible catches made by the receivers on both teams.
Washington seemed mounted several drives which consisted of long passes and capped some memorable catches.
However the two biggest catches came from the Giants receivers Odell Beckham Jr and Reuben Randle who both scored touchdowns.
Beckham scored first, reaching over the safety covering him to take the ball in the end-zone for a 30 yard touchdown reception.
Reuben Randle was New York's top receiver on the night with 116 receiving yards and managing to score a touchdown with this juggling effort.
There were not many signs of life from the Redskins but Rashad Jennings did return a kick-off for a 101 yard touchdown as the Giants conceded 14 points in the fourth quarter once again.
About to get better?
The Giants incorporated Randle into their offense a lot more today than they have for a long time and it proved dividends for them.
However with both Randle and Beckham looking to be on top of their games, it could still be set to get better for Eli Manning's men.
Rumours are that star wide receiver Victor Cruz is close to returning from injury meaning that the Giants could be on the verge of having one of the most threatening receiving corps in the league.
