NXT fans are usually quite happy when it comes to plans for the Diva’s division, as brilliant feuds and matches are showcased on a weekly basis.
The most recent match that had fans talking took place at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. Sasha Banks lost her NXT Women’s Championship to Bayley and the rematch has been announced for TakeOver: Respect.
That match will be a 30-minute Ironwoman match.

So it’s clear that fans always have something to look forward to. However, over the last few months NXT fans haven’t been ecstatic about future plans regarding the NXT Women’s Championship.
It was revealed that the WWE saw Eva Marie as the future of the Diva’s division, and this meant she was set for a run as the NXT Women’s Champion.

The most recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, however, provides an update on this situation, and it’s something a lot of NXT fans will be happy to hear.
The fact remains, Bayley needs a new challenger after Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Banks have transitioned into the main roster.
Now the WWE have called for Eva Marie’s push to be slowed down, so we won’t be seeing her lift that championship anytime soon.
The WWE are now going with Asuka – formerly known as Kana – to feud with Bayley for the NXT Women’s Championship.
The reason they’re going with Asuka is because she’s already a huge name in the wrestling industry.
They also hope that the matches between Asuka and Bayley can live up to the standards the Four Horsewomen had set during their time on NXT.
I believe this is definitely the correct decision. Eva Marie offers very little in the ring and her title matches will only bring down the standards that have been set.
Asuka is fantastic in the ring, and it’s great to see that the WWE are showing faith in her right away.
The next challenger the WWE are looking towards is Dana Brooke, so we should also expect to see her battling it out with the champion down the line.
The Asuka and Bayley feud is good for all of the women on NXT. It gives time for Brooke, Eva Marie and Alexa Bliss to improve their game and build themselves up as legitimate and serious challengers.
Right now they don’t look like challengers or champions.
Asuka has pressure on her shoulders already. She has so much focus on her so she’s expected to steal the show against Bayley.
Whenever the feud kicks off, you can be sure to expect incredible matches.
There's still a couple of months until those plans come into place. For now NXT fans can sit back and relax, knowing that Bayley and Sasha Banks will make history at TakeOver: Respect in the main event.
