Metta World Peace signs one-year deal with Los Angeles Lakers

Metta World Peace has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers today and will take part in a physical tomorrow to seal the agreement, according to reports. The small forward is expected to make the Lakers’ roster, and is scheduled to join his new teammates in Hawaii on Monday for the start of their training camp. The 35-year-old has been missing from the NBA for a year, but not could end his career with the franchise he won a championship with in 2010. Over the the NFL, and the New York Giants recorded their first victory of the season with a 32-21 win over the Washington Redskins last night. Having been bested by the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Falcons in their opening two games, hopes weren’t necessarily high in the Giants camp, but the likes of Eli Manning and Odell Beckham pulled through at the MetLife Stadium to give fans something positive to rally around. Next up, the Buffalo Bills on October 4.
