A recent post by the WWE on their website may have indicated that they're bringing back the United States Championship Open Challenge this week on Monday Night Raw.
Between winning the title at WrestleMania 31 and losing it to Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, the United States Champion John Cena issued open challenges every week on Raw for anyone in the locker room to come out to the ring and try and beat him for his title.
Every single challenge ended with no title change, and now Cena has won his championship back after defeating Rollins at Night of Champions, the open challenge is set for a return this week.

The WWE stated on their website during their Raw Preview: "One night after reclaiming the United States Championship from Seth Rollins at Night of Champions, John Cena defended his star-spangled prize on Raw, sealing a victory over The Architect with an Attitude Adjustment.
"Now that Rollins has already used his guaranteed rematch for the prestigious title, will Raw bring the return of Cena’s U.S. Open Challenge? If so, who is bold enough to face The Champ?"

So it looks like the United States Championship Open Challenge has been brought back by Cena, and it also could be indicating that Cena could be on the verge of starting a new feud with another wrestler in the WWE. But who could this person be?
Opportunities could be given to the likes of Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, and Damien Sandow to prove themselves once again on the main roster. It could be set up for a return of Daniel Bryan or King Barrett. But the one Superstar I would like to see start a feud with Cena for the championship is Cesaro.
The Swiss Sensation has not only been highly credited by several WWE Hall of Famers and many members of the WWE Universe but the United States Champion himself. Cesaro had some high-quality matches with Cena earlier in the summer of this year, and hopefully the company will remember this and give him another shot at a singles title.
In what is usually a quiet time for the WWE and with their ratings very low too, Vince McMahon would be an idiot to not set up this feud that would get fans talking once again and watching the product every week.
