Gerrard also took to Instagram after the match, posting a photo of the LA Galaxy line-up alongside the caption: "Teamwork . Big 3pts well done boys 👍😁".
"I said last week, we're at the business end of the season," Gerrard added. "It's all about three points and not about individuals, tallies and who gets what, but it's about the team getting three points. It's a big result for us."
Did Steven Gerrard leave Liverpool too early?
There will be some Liverpool fans watching Gerrard's latest goal who'll be wondering whether the former England international left Anfield a season too early.
The 35-year-old, however, knew his time at Liverpool was at an end after Brendan Rodgers left him out of a couple of the club's biggest fixtures last season - namely the Champions League tie against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, and the Premier League clash against Manchester United back in March.
Gerrard may have stayed for at least one more campaign had Rodgers handled things differently last season - although there's no guarantee that would have helped Liverpool avoid such an underwhelming start to the 2015-16 campaign.
