Sevilla beat Real Madrid 1-0 in the opening leg of the Spanish Super Cup on Saturday with Luis Fabiano accounting for the only goal.

Fabiano struck with a 27th minute penalty after former Sevilla star Sergio Ramos brought down Renato in the area.

Stout defending the rest of the way by Sevilla, the two-time UEFA Cup champions, led them to victory over last season´s Primeral Liga winners.
