A goal from Gabri moments before the break was enough for Ajax to reclaim the Dutch Super Cup as they beat champions PSV Eindhoven 1-0.
Ajax won the Shield for the third successive year in a fairly predictable encounter with neither side willing to risk injury or suspension with the opening day of the Eredivise looming just days away.
The Eindhoven side were without several key players including strikers Jefferson Farfn, Arouna Kone, Danko Lazovic and Kenneth Perez but gave youngsters Jonathan and Genero Zeefuik some invaluable match practice.
