The Amsterdammers dropped out of the running for the Urgugay striker on Monday after seeing bids of 3.5m and 6.5m euros rejected by Groningen, who want 9.5m euros. Representatives of Suarez had hoped to avoid an arbritration hearing with the Dutch FA, but have now opted to pursue that route starting on August 6.
FC Groningen director Hans Nijland told the club´s official website, www.fcgroningen.nl: "It is extremely unpleasant that this is becoming a lengthy and lingering case."
