Vienna upped Sebo price

Austria Vienna have claimed they used Filip Sebo´s prominence in an advertising campaign to bump up his valuation before selling the striker to Rangers.

The Slovakian, now 23, was one of Paul Le Guen´s most high-profile signings last summer when he arrived at Ibrox for £1.8million, but he has so far failed to justify the fee, scoring just two goals during his debut season.

Sebo was the face of a new Nike kit advertising campaign, and Austria Vienna financial director Markus Kraetschmer stated he made that a factor in negotiations with Rangers. He said: "I knew, so long as we used Sebo in the Nike deal, I could say we needed to keep Sebo in Vienna. However, once the price became so good..."
