Darren Clarke and Jeev Milkha Singh will captain their continents in the EurAsia cup in January.
The event will be held in Malaysia on 15-17 of January and looks like it will be closely fought with the emergence of many talented golfers from the Far East in recent years.
The cup will provide a good experience for Clarke as he prepares for the Ryder Cup in 2016, which is exactly a year away. It will be a chance for the 47-year-old to try out ideas, tactics and certain ways of doing the job before the massive challenge of defeating the Americans in their own backyard.

The two captains have been friends for many years and both men are looking forward to facing off against each other at the second staging of the EurAsia cup, the first ending in a draw (10-10) last year.
Clarke told the BBC: "It's going to be a great week- the guys are really looking forward to it. When we get to Kuala Lumpur Jeev will be trying to kick my butt and I will be trying to kick his. We have known each other for a very, very long time. We have played together on tour for most of our careers."
Singh mirrored his opponents comments, "It's an honour to be offered the EurAsia captaincy and I am very excited by the prospect of leading what I hope will be a very strong Asian team. It is a special event. I am looking forward to going up against Darren- I'm going to have a lot of fun with him."
The Northern Irishman has is work cut out for him in the coming year, not just in January when he comes up against a solid Asian team, which will include Hideki Matsuyama, Anirban Lahiri and Byeong Hun An, who are all in the top 50 in the world rankings.
But when it comes to the Ryder Cup, it's going to be a completely different challenge. The USA team will be fueled by so many recent losses. Over the last 16 years, they have only won on two occasions (1999, 2008).
They will also want to avenge their devastating defeat the last time the event was held in the States. Going into the singles at Medinah in 2012, USA were 10-6 ahead but ended up losing the cup 14 1/2 to 13 1/2.
We just have to look at who the American captain, Davis Love III, can call on. The top 10 list of the best players in the world is littered with Americans. World number one Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Jim Furyk and Zach Johnson all take up their place in the top 10.
