Schalke had given up hope of signing the 26-year-old midfielder when he was priced out of the market by the Turkish club. However, the player told local television stations on Tuesday that he did indeed want to join the Royal Blues and was ready to accept their contract offer, assuming the clubs could then agree on a price.
"The highest hurdle is the transfer fee since Fenerbahce are very tough negotiators," said Schalke general manager Andreas Muller to Germany´s Premiere television.
