A tweet from Slater read:
Durant went on to say:
“If you ask me a question, I’ll talk about [the rumors]. But like I said before, I have people who I talk to about everything and I know for a fact they didn’t talk to him, so he’s making up stories.”
According to Hoops Hype, Durant will receive $21.2 million in the 2015- 2016 season, the final year of his contract. Unless an extension is announced, Durant will be an unrestricted free agent next summer.
There have been numerous questions about where Durant will end up when the time comes.
The 27- year old has played all his life in Oklahoma City, but some say that he may end up back at home with the Washington Wizards.
While the Lakers rumors might not be true now, it remains possible that Durant could be in the purple and gold in the future too. It'll be interesting to see where free agency takes the 2013- 2014 NBA MVP when the time comes.
