US Title set to change hands at Hell in a Cell due to Cena sabbatical?

It has been rumored for the past week that John Cena is set to be taking two months off after the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view for "personal reasons."

Much like when AJ Lee took time off last year, many people thought it was for Cena to get married, but Nikki Bella, his girlfriend, hasn't requested time off so that looks unlikely.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT HELL IN A CELL?

Regardless of Cena's need for a two-month sabbatical in the midst of what should be a busy time for him, he is currently a champion. That begs the question; if he wants to take these two months off then what will happen to the championship?

Seth Rollins failed to recapture the title in his rematch the night after he lost the title at Night of Champions, this means that the 15 time world champion currently doesn't have any rivals for the championship.

It also means that, if he drops the championship, it will have changed hands at three consecutive pay-per-views, which is something WWE would be wanting to avoid, given that they wanted it to become more prestigious now there is only one world title.

MAIN CHALLENGERS?

Seth Rollins fights John Cena inside a steel cage at tonight's WWE Network event with the United States Championship on the line. Whilst this is perhaps the last time Seth will fight for the US title, it is highly unlikely that the current World Champion will regain the title.

If Rollins doesn't step up, then there is also the rumoured feud Cena could be set to have with Dolph Ziggler and the fact that Xavier Woods and The New Day have become a thorn in his side as of late.

Technically, WWE have three weeks to build up a feud where a title can change hands, this could be done with any Superstar they please. At the same time, WWE could also decide that John Cena should take the US title with him and come back with it, but this is highly unlikely given the lack of WWE title right now.

As for John Cena and his "personal reasons," it is likely that Cena wants some time away from the company because he hasn't been used very well lately.

He has been dropped from his usual main event spot and it has seemed like WWE have no idea what to do with him, so they have given him the US title so he can be a plac-eholder.
