Manchester United fans, a good morning to you on this dreary Monday.
The weekend posted its fair share of shock results so there’s much to discuss in today’s round-up, not least, of course, the fact that United were crushed by Arsenal at the weekend.
Read on below for all the latest, watch the video above for the major headlines, and leave comments and thoughts in the box provided.
Woodward's Muller ambition
Manchester United fans will inevitably like the idea of Ed Woodward hotly pursuing Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller, but Allianz Arena CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told him to stop doing as much.
The German revealed how he’s told Woodward to stop making offers for Muller, stating that he can’t change his email address so is getting rather annoyed with the saga.
It’s previously been reported that United made several attempts to sign the World Cup winner in the summer, but, obviously, they had no luck.
Martial and Chelsea
Meanwhile, it’s claimed United weren’t the only English team aiming to sign Anthony Martial this summer, as Chelsea were also amongst his suitors.
Reports suggest the French forward was pursued by the Blues as well, though he opted for Old Trafford. A good decision from the looks of things. particularly given how Chelsea have started their campaign.
Neville and Morgan bet
Lastly, Gary Neville has placed a £5,000 bet with avid Arsenal fan Piers Morgan over where their respective clubs will finish in the Premier League table.
Neville, naturally a staunch United supporter, believes Louis van Gaal’s men will finish higher than their north London counterparts. The money on the table will go to the Manchester Children’s Hospital, with Morgan having accepted the offer.
