Liverpool fans, a good morning to you on this dreary Monday.
The weekend posted its fair share of shock results so there’s much to discuss in today’s round-up, not least, of course, the fact that Liverpool are now managerless.
Read on below for all the latest, watch the video above for the major headlines, and leave comments and thoughts in the box provided.
It’s safe to assume confusion reigns at Anfield at the moment. Brendan Rodgers was, of course, relieved of his duties after yesterday’s draw with Everton, and there could be more bad news creeping over the horizon.
It’s purported that first-team star Philippe Coutinho is being targeted by Barcelona for the January transfer window, with the Catalans ready to spend as much as £30million on him when their transfer embargo is lifted.
Naturally, whoever replaces Rodgers will want to stop that. By the time they come in though it may be too late.
Other rumours today focus on just who that man might be under the circumstances.
Jurgen Klopp, of Borussia Dortmund fame, is in the picture, as is ex-Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti. Fans seem to be split on just who they want, but it should be resolved sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, Liverpool players appear to have reacted negatively to the news of Rodgers’ exit. Adam Lallana posted a picture to Instagram thanking the Northern Irishman for purchasing him, whilst there was also a social media reaction from the young Jordon Ibe.
Ibe posted an image of himself and Rodgers, accompanied by a sad-faced expression as the caption. Safe to say not everyone at Anfield wanted a dug-out upheaval.
