The Tennessee Titans being on a bye week this past weekend was a disgrace, as it kept us all from watching Marcus Mariota.
Mariota's stock dipped tremendously before the 2015 NFL Draft, with Jameis Winston being the clear number one overall selection and Mariota being viewed as a much-inferior talent, despite being a Heisman winner, with many questioning his ability to adjust to the NFL.
All those doubters have been proved wrong so far, with Mariota enjoying an exceptional start to his career in the National Football League, and his Titans teammates are suitably impressed.

Several Titans players were speaking about their solid start to the season, following a year of total and utter sadness last time out, and Mariota's name kept popping up.
Heading into the past weekend’s games, Mariota had 14 completions of 20 yards or better, which tied him for first in the NFL with the Ravens' Joe Flacco and Arizona’s Carson Palmer. In addition, Mariota’s eight touchdown passes still rank among league leaders after the weekend, even though he’s played one game fewer than almost every other starter.
“I think at the end of this day, we have playmakers on this team — starting with the quarterback," Delanie Walker said.
Wide receiver Kendall Wright also had encouraging words for the former Oregon Duck, praising Mariota's accuracy in the pocket and his ability to guide his receivers into open space.
“He always puts the ball in a spot for you to run after the catch,” Wright said of Mariota. “He doesn’t throw it to where it’s a bang-bang play or where you’re going to get hit right afterward.”
Mariota has made an excellent start to his life in the NFL, let's just hope he can keep it up.
