CM Punk suffers an injury while training for UFC debut

Published 1 Comments

The UFC career of former WWE superstar CM Punk will surely prove to be very lucrative for the company and one that will be eagerly watched by WWE fans.

Punk famously left WWE last year and had the fans in a constant state of limbo as they were constantly hoping that he would return.

Not looking back

Punk never did return to the company and was constantly making headlines outside of the ring with some fairly strong statements being made.

The biggest statement he made however was when he signed with rival promotion UFC and entered the world of mixed martial arts.

Some thought that the signing of Punk was a move made by UFC to just to send a message to the WWE and that he may never appear in the Octagon.

That however has been reused several times with Punk training hard for his debut - although a fight featuring the former WWE star still hasn't been planned.

It now seems that its going to take even longer to see Punk enter the cage in the UFC after news recently broke that he has suffered an injury during training.

"He got caught in a scramble, so right now he’s taking a little time off,”  - Punk's coach Duke Roufus confirmed his injury

It is currently unclear how far this could set Punk back but it was confirmed that he will meet with a specialist on October 14th.

Thus far there has been no announcement of a possible fight date or even an opponent for Punk in his first UFC bout, but it is expected to take place within the next 10 months.
