Guillem Balague has doubts that Jurgen Klopp will join Liverpool, despite the majority of the British press now reporting that the revered German coach will sign a three-year contract with the Reds by the end of the week.
The Telegraph’s Chris Bascombe wrote on Monday night that Klopp is expected to travel to Merseyside in the next 48 hours, and an official announcement over his appointment could be made by Friday.
However, shortly after that report was published, Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague threw the cat amongst the pigeons on Twitter, claiming that he believes Klopp is still waiting for Bayern Munich.

“I think Klopp is waiting for Bayern,” Balague, who is a self-confessed Liverpool fan, wrote on Twitter. “That doesn't stop his ppl talking to LFC. I'd give it to McAllister and in the summer Roger Schmidt.”
Schmidt is the impressive young German coach who is making a real name for himself at Bayer Leverkusen, but Liverpool fans now have their hopes pinned on Klopp - and it’s fair to say they didn’t react too well to Balague’s last tweet.

However, a similar report was published last month by the Daily Mail, who claimed that Klopp was waiting to discover if he stood a realistic chance of succeeding Pep Guardiola at the Allianz Arena before accepting a job in the Premier League.
With the British press now convinced Klopp will become the next Liverpool manager, it would be a crushing blow for fans if Balague is proved right.
More will become clear over the forthcoming days.
