Emre Can believes Jurgen Klopp will be a fantastic appointment for Liverpool if Fenway Sports Group manage to convince the German coach to come to Anfield.

It’s understood that Klopp is poised to sign a three-year contract with the Reds, possibly as early as Friday - per the Telegraph - and Can is confident that the former Borussia Dortmund head coach would have little trouble managing a big English club.

“Jurgen Klopp is certainly a great coach,” Can was quoted as telling German newspaper Die Welt by the Daily Mail. “I think he has demonstrated in Dortmund that he can work at any team in the world.”

Huge coup for Liverpool

The appointment of Klopp will be a major coup for Liverpool, who still have ambitions of securing a top-four finish this season.

Although a big ask for Klopp, that particular task is not beyond the revered German coach’s capabilities.

If, as expected, the 48-year-old agrees to join Liverpool by Friday, he will have a week to prepare for his first match in charge of Liverpool against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on September 17.

Win that fixture and the optimistic Liverpool faithful will start to believe that anything is possible with Klopp in charge.
