Mamadou Sakho says he was a 'caged lion' under Brendan Rodgers

Published Add your comment

It may be a time for dejected reflection from all those associated with Liverpool, given that Brendan Rodgers is no longer manager, but one man who has differed from most of his teammates is French centre-back Mamadou Sakho. The Reds defender was frozen out at the beginning of the season and described himself as being like a caged lion who had not been fed for a while. Since signing a new deal he’s been an ever-present fixture for Liverpool, but one can’t shake the feeling his comments are a thinly-veiled dig at Brendan Rodgers. In other news Emre Can has offered an insight into who he wants to become the next Anfield manager, describing Jurgen Klopp as a great coach. The youngster said Klopp could work with any team in the world - we’ve got to admit there’s a strong chance that theory is going to be put to the test with Liverpool.
