Arsenal fans, come in, make yourself at home.
Presumably you’ve landed on this tiny space of internet with the expectation of finding a round-up on your beloved club. If that’s the case then you’ve come to exactly the right place.
Below we’ve detailed the biggest stories of the day, including a bit of fluff to help you digest. Read on, watch the video above and leave thoughts and opinions in the box provided when possible.
The player meeting
Even the most blinkered Arsenal fan couldn’t have realistically predicted that the Gunners would bowl over Manchester United 3-0 when the two sides met at the weekend.
But they did - that’s football. One man who definitely outperformed expectation was Theo Walcott, and he’s since admitted that he and his teammates held a player meeting in the build-up to the game that inspired them to victory.
Spirits were down after the demoralising Champions League loss to Olympiacos last week, and the meeting appears to have turned that around.
Either that or United were just really bad on the day. Take your pick.
"The players spoke to each other on our own and we wanted to do this for the fans. It was the Arsenal of old, everything seemed to click. It sends a message to the Premier League we are here to be recognised no doubt," he said.
Pires helping Coquelin
Elsewhere, Francis Coquelin has admitted that he’s had help from Gunners legend Robert Pires.
The French midfielder, brought in from the cold mid-way through last season, has become an important fixture in Arsene Wenger’s team. He said Pires had given him tips and advice on how to improve.
Martial to emulate Henry?
Lastly, Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has admitted he’s aiming to emulate the feats of Thierry Henry but is hesitant to compare himself to the Gunners great.
Henry, Arsenal’s record goalscorer, is perhaps the best striker to have ever donned a pair of boots in the Premier League so it’s safe to say Martial has some way to go before he’s mentioned in the same breath as him.
