WWE: John Cena could be set to face Dolph Ziggler at Hell in a Cell

Published 25 Comments

As everyone now knows, John Cena will be taking a break from the WWE in the near future.

Following the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view later this month, Cena will be taking the entirety of November and December off for what is being called "personal reasons."

At the moment, Cena doesn't have an opponent and nor is he in any real feud in the run up to Hell in a Cell. That could have all changed last night thanks to Dolph Ziggler.

As seen in the closing moments of Monday's episode of RAW, Dolph Ziggler ran out to help save John Cena from The New Day's attack, however Ziggler actually ended up super kicking Cena instead by accident.

Dave Meltzer went on to speculate on today's installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that Cena will be defending his United States Championship title at Hell in a Cell against Ziggler following the interaction between the two.

Ziggler has debuted a new, darker ring attire in the past couple of weeks, which could signify a potential heel turn.

The super kick to Cena was one of those moments where the WWE left it ambiguous as they try to decide if they actually want this to become a feud or not, and whether they will actually turn Ziggler into a heel for it.

Dolph is super over with the crowd right now, and at a time when the WWE are seriously struggling for faces that get cheered loudly, it would be a disaster to turn Dolph heel. A face vs face match against Cena at the HIAC PPV would be how I would book things.
