Mario Balotelli does not believe that Liverpool need his help this season, despite the fact Brendan Rodgers has now been sacked.
The Italian, who is currently on a season-long loan at AC Milan after being told by Rodgers he was surplus to requirements at Anfield, caused a stir on Twitter this morning after posting a couple of cryptic tweets.
However, he deleted both tweets soon after - insisting they were in reference to Italy, rather than Liverpool - and then posted a message to Liverpool fans, praising them as “amazing” supporters.

After tweeting the message “Coming back soon…”, Balotelli then tweeted: “Coming back to play here soon* not in other countries! Don’t get it wrong every time thanks.”
Shortly before deleting those two tweets, the former Manchester City striker wrote: “Liverpool is a good club but the amazing fans and amazing team make it special!YNWA you guys can do it.You don't need help❤️”
Could Klopp help Mario to shine at Anfield?
Despite his struggles at Anfield last season, some Liverpool fans are optimistic that Klopp could be the man to bring the best out of Balotelli.
The 25-year-old isn’t necessarily a typical Jurgen Klopp player - one who prides himself on working tirelessly for the team - but Balotelli will find himself working under the revered German coach next season if AC Milan decide against signing the £16 million star on a permanent deal.
Currently in the process of rebuilding his reputation after scoring a pitiful four goals in 28 appearances for the Reds last season, Balotelli’s story with Liverpool might not be over just yet.
