The centre-back has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona, with Roma executives seemingly set to travel to Spain to reach an agreement with Barca for the transfer of the 26-year-old. However, the Nerazzurri club are still determined to convince the player to join them instead.
"The situation is simple," said Inter´s technical director Marco Branca. "We don´t have an agreement with his club but the player has already stated on several occasions his wish to join Inter. We will see how the situation develops but there are margins to reach an agreement."
