Several members of the WWE main roster departed for Saudi Arabia today ahead of the organization's upcoming tour of the Middle Eastern nation.

However, there were several wrestlers conspicuous by their absence. In fact, none of the current Divas roster will travel for the tour.

And now, as reported by Wrestle Zone, the reason for their non-attendance has been revealed.

According to the report, the Divas have been kept out of the Saudi Arabia tour because of the country's strict laws concerning women.

The way females are presented in the WWE, in particular, the way they dress for performances, contrasts sharply with the conservative laws of the Arabic nation. The WWE's current crop of Divas would not have been permitted to work any of the events had they traveled to the nation.

In fact, the same situation arose back in 2014 when the WWE last traveled to Saudi Arabia. Then, those fans looking to purchase tickets for any date on the tour were reminded that it was a "man only event."

With the females on the WWE's main roster currently embroiled in a tustle for more recognition in the US, this whole situation puts that into perspective somewhat.

Still, the WWE are going ahead with the tour and have sent some of their biggest names along to drum up interest.

Sheamus, The Miz, Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper have all been confirmed to take part, as well as reigning WWE Champion Seth Rollins.

The Diva-less tour begins tomorrow and runs through until Saturday night.
