Borussia Dortmund captain Mats Hummels has hailed Jurgen Klopp as a “fantastic coach” ahead of the revered manager’s move to Liverpool.
The World Cup winner, who flourished under Klopp’s management at Signal Iduna Park, believes the Reds are securing the services of a football-obsessive.
Hummels admitted he was ‘keeping his fingers’ crossed for his former boss - per the London Evening Standard - ahead of Liverpool’s official announcement, which is expected to be made at some point today.

"There is no doubt about it, he is a fantastic coach, he's absolutely great," Hummels, who was speaking to reporters ahead of Germany’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Ireland, said. "You thought, 'What is he going to do post-Dortmund?', then clubs like Liverpool certainly came into the frame.
“He lives, eats, breathes and thinks football day after day."
Could Klopp lure Hummels or Reus to Anfield?
Liverpool fans might be hoping that Klopp can convince Hummels to join him at Anfield at some point in 2016.
The 26-year-old is one of the most sought-after central defenders in world football, and the chance to reunite with Klopp in the Premier League might appeal to him.
Another player that Liverpool fans will be hoping could be lured to Anfield is Marco Reus, the brilliant attacking winger who has scored 59 goals in 128 appearances for BVB.
However, one suspects that in order to attract this class of player, Liverpool will need to secure Champions League football for the 2016-17 campaign.
Finishing inside the top four will be Klopp’s primary aim - and with just eight matches played, it’s still early enough in the season for the former Dortmund coach to achieve that objective.
