Sports fans, you’re almost there!
Of course, I’m referring to the end of the working week which, at this stage, is around 30 hours away (UK schedule). You can manage it, I’m sure, but if you can’t then allow us to give you some motivation.
Below we’ve compiled all the latest, breaking, news. Take it all in and leave thoughts and opinions in the comments box provided.
Barnes' incident with Fisher
Few would dispute the claim that Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes is a controversial character, which is why it’s hardly surprising to see reports surface suggesting he attacked New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher for dating his estranged wife.
An interesting rumour carried by NBC Sports says that Fisher was at Barnes’ former home with his wife, Gloria Govan, only for Barnes to find out and attempt to start a fight.
Sources claim Barnes, who was at the Grizzlies training camp, returned to his old home and went after Fisher. It’s said the latter isn’t pressing charges after suffering minimal damage.
Thunder v Timberwolves
Over to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Kevin Durant helped his team rip apart the Minnesota Timberwolves last night, though it was Russell Westbrook who was the Thunder’s most impressive player.
Durant’s return to the floor helped the Thunder record a 122-99 victory over the Timberwolves, who will need to be better once the season gets underway proper.
Thomas return imminent
Across to the NFL, and Julius Thomas is getting closer to a return for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The tight end suffered a hand injury in his team’s preseason opener, but has been training with teammates this week ahead of a comeback.
He’s not yet been cleared, and probably won’t be in the side to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, but it’s a step in the right direction.
Bailey wants exit
Last but not least, Alvin Bailey apparently wants to leave the Seattle Seahawks after their troubled start - at least that’s what can be deduced from his Twitter actions.
The 24-year-old tweeted that he could think of 31 cities he’d rather be in than Seattle, and that’s hardly going to sit well with coach Pete Carroll. The Seahawks are, of course, currently 2-2 after a slow beginning to the campaign.
