All hail Jurgen Klopp. That’s right, the Anfield board wasted no time in appointing the German as Brendan Rodgers’ successor, and in turn he’s wasted no time in stating his plans for the future. During his first message to the club’s supporters, Klopp said Liverpool needed to change to become believers, and he also confirmed - in a separate interview - that he sees himself not as another Special One, but, rather, the Normal One. We’re willing to predict he’ll be received far from normally if he can turn Liverpool’s ailing season around. Aside from Klopp-centric speculation, former Anfield star Javier Mascherano has said he believes Rafael Benitez saved his career while on Merseyside. Mascherano told how Benitez had lifted him out of a dark hole by signing him for Liverpool in 2007, with his career apparently stalling at West Ham prior to that.
