Arsenal were linked with a whole host of strikers during the summer transfer window, but perhaps the one they came closest to signing was Aleksandr Kokorin. The Dynamo Moscow coach, Andrei Kobelev, has confirmed that he and his peers snubbed a loan offer from the Emirates Stadium as they believe their man is worth more than a temporary spell elsewhere. Kokorin is said to have a release clause worth £13million embedded in his contract, but it appears Arsene Wenger didn’t want to pay that much. Elsewhere, David Ospina could be the subject of a January transfer window hunt, with a number of club’s keen to take advantage of his position as Petr Cech’s backup. Reports claim the goalkeeper has already had offers from elsewhere, and that he might well look to move on given his reserve position.
