Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan believes Jurgen Klopp can lead Liverpool to the top of the Premier League table.
The 24-year-old took to Facebook on Friday afternoon to express his belief that the appointment of Klopp will have a hugely positive effect at Anfield.
Gundogan established his status as one of Europe’s best central midfielders under Klopp’s management at Signal Iduna Park - and it seems Liverpool have now gained a new fan.

“Wow! What a hype about Kloppo becoming the new manager of Liverpool!” the Germany international wrote on Facebook. “Congratulations to the #LFC for the appointment! I'm sure he'll bring the Reds back to the top of the #bpl and I wish him all the best!
“Perhaps we'll see each other again this season in the Europa League, Kloppo! #YNWA #Klopp #BVB #AnfieldRoad.”
Liverpool will be linked with BVB stars
Now that Klopp is at Liverpool, it’s inevitable that the Reds will be linked with a host of Borussia Dortmund players over the coming weeks and months.
BVB were hammered 5-1 by Bayern Munich last weekend - a result which emphasises the gulf in class between the two Bundesliga leaders at present - and some of Dortmund’s high-profile stars might be tempted by the opportunity to embark on new challenge in the Premier League under Klopp in 2016.
Mats Hummels, Marco Reus, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and the aforementioned Gundogan are all likely to be linked with moves to Liverpool at some point between now and the start of next season.
Another player who might be tempted by the chance to reunite with Klopp is Mario Götze, whose Bayern Munich career hasn’t taken off in the way many expected it would.
For now, though, Klopp must work with the squad he has and ensure Liverpool are on course to secure a top-four finish before the transfer window re-opens in January.
