Eight games have elapsed in this year’s Bundesliga and swathes of changes are threatening to take hold below champions-elect Bayern Munich.

Critics have labeled the German top flight as one-sided, uncompetitive and a season-long ceremony for Bayern.

But while they remain a dominant force and may yet go down as one of the finest German sides of a generation, teams jostle for position beneath them in what looks like one of the least predictable Bundesliga seasons of recent times.
