NXT Takeover: Respect was a major success for WWE, with the first ever female main event being one of the best, if not the best women's wrestling match in the history of the company.
Despite this good news for WWE, the company have still released two of their talents and could also be done with crowd favourite Blue Pants.
DEVIN TAYLOR AND CAL BISHOP RELEASED
Devin Taylor is the most confusing release given that she has been a backstage interviewer with WWE for a while. She also looked like she was set to open a feud with Dana Brooke after the "Total Diva" continuously tapped Taylor on the head in a patronising manner after every interview she conducted.

She had been with WWE since 2013 and had also wrestled a few matches for the company. It was thought that, much like JoJo before her, Devin would work her way up to being a ring announcer, but it seems this is no longer the case.
Cal Bishop was also released by WWE today, he had wrestled a few times for the NXT brand but had never been used effectively.

There is no word yet on why these two were released and what is next for them, what is known is that they were both notified of their releases yesterday morning.
BLUE PANTS DONE WITH WWE?
Blue Pants' run in NXT is also reported to have come to an end. It seems WWE used her frequently on the NXT programme due to her popularity with the crowd, but this recent run has now come to an end and she will not be used in the near future.
WWE never officially signed Blue Pants, real name Leva Bates, to a contract and so it seems that she can easily leave. The company were not selling Blue Pants merchandise at live events this week either.
Leva was in the UK last month wrestling for many of the wrestling promotions, following what was a successful appearance at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn where she helped The VaudeVillians to tag team gold when it was announced that she was the equaliser that the team was going to use to combat Alexa Bliss.
Much like Devin Taylor and Cal Roberts, it is currently unknown what Blue Pants is set to do in the future or if WWE is completely done with her. Both Devin and Cal's profiles have been removed from the official WWE website.
