Swiss manager of the year Lucien Favre has accepted an offer to become the new coach of German Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.

The 49-year-old had led FC Zurich to the Swiss title last season and was still contracted to the club for another year.

However, he had a clause in his contract allowing him to move abroad and he has made use of this to take over from caretaker coach Karsten Heine in the German capital.
