Former Liverpool striker-turned-pundit Stan Collymore believes Christian Benteke and Adam Lallana will struggle under new manager Jurgen Klopp - and fears both players could be sold.
Collymore, who was writing in his latest column for Boylesports- per the Express - also believes Daniel Sturridge will need to “reinvent himself” in order to succeed under Brendan Rodgers’ successor at Anfield.
But while he has confidence in Sturridge’s ability to impress Klopp, Collymore is less optimistic about the futures of both Benteke and Lallana.

“Benteke and Sturridge will almost have to reinvent themselves,” Collymore writes. “Daniel can do it, make no mistake. But he’s going to have to prove his fitness to be in the manager’s long-term plans. As for Christian, I honestly don’t know if he’ll make it.”
On Lallana, Collymore added: "Adam Lallana is another player who for me doesn’t fit the profile.
"Not because he’s not willing to work hard – he most certainly is – but he’s not the kind of attacking midfielder who will be quick enough to implement high intensity pressing into his game.
"He’s languid and not the quickest, and perhaps at 27 that part of his game isn’t going to come easily, so I suggest he may be someone else on the move in the next few windows.
Benteke: a £32.5 million mistake?
It’s not difficult to see where Collymore is coming from. Klopp demands his players work tirelessly for the team - including the attackers, who have no option but to press hard from the front in order to keep their places in the starting line-up - and Benteke and Lallana may struggle to carry out their new manager’s demanding orders.
Benteke has only been at Liverpool for a matter of months - the Reds paid £32.5 million for the Belgium international’s services - but already there are doubts about his future at Anfield.
The former Aston Villa star relies on service into the box - crosses, in particular - but Liverpool didn’t play that way under Rodgers and are unlikely to play to the Belgian’s strengths under Klopp, either.
Lallana has a big point to prove
As for Lallana, the England international has flattered to deceive since arriving at Anfield just over a year ago.
The 27-year-old has told reporters that he’s looking forward to starting life under Klopp, following the international break, but he may not have too much longer at Anfield if Collymore’s prediction comes true.
