Mundo Deportivo reported the Gabon international had drawn attention from the powers that be at the Nou Camp following a strong start to the season that has seen him score 14 goals in as many games.
Meanwhile, the introduction of Jurgen Klopp at Anfield has produced endless rumours linking Borussia Dortmund players with a move to Merseyside - despite the German manager's assertion he will not raid his former club.

However, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is confident Aubemayang will remain at the Westfalenstadion for the foreseeable future.
He told German publication Bild: "We are clearly planning with Auba."
Auba, as he is affectionately known by Dortmund fans, has been a revelation for the Black and Yellows since his arrival in 2014.
He has scored 56 goals in 107 games for BVB and signed a new deal over the summer that keeps him at the club until 2020.
Following that new contract, he said: "I am with all my heart here, never wanted to leave."
So it seems all is rosy in the world of Dortmund and Aubameyang. However, that could change if Barcelona or Liverpool's interest proves to be substantial.
The Champions League holders will be looking to strengthen a depleted squad in January and the lure of playing alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez could prove too strong to resist.
A move to the Premier League also has its pros. The lure of working with the man who took him to the Bundesliga could be an exciting prospect, plus the wages aren't too bad.
Whatever may happen in the not too distant future, Aubameyang is a player with the world at his feet and at the age of 26 he will only continue to improve as he reaches his peak.
