Brazilian football legend Pele believes Lionel Messi has been the best player in the last decade, according to ESPNFC.
Pele, currently on a trip to India, said in a press conference that although Messi remains superior among others, arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona teammate Neymar are also close to the level of the Argentine.
Goal.com quoted the 74-year-old saying:
”It is very difficult to make comparison of players of different generations. But in the last ten years Messi was the best. Ronaldo plays forward and tries to score, while Messi plays with a different style.
"In my team I would love to have both...We have Neymar who also has a good future.”

Lionel Messi has won four Ballon d’Or titles and Cristiano Ronaldo has managed to beat Messi for the last two seasons. While both have won FIFA World Player of the Year once.
Speaking to the media, Pele was asked if he would consider himself for the post of the FIFA President, to which he replied that he has no intentions of doing so, hence ruling himself out of the running to be the successor of Sepp Blatter.
Messi is currently sidelined due to a knee injury sustained against Las Palmas and will be out of action for at least two months, which gives Real Madrid star Ronaldo the opportunity to gallop ahead in the goal scoring department.
However, Messi is desperate to return to action and it is believed that the El Clasico fixture in November could be his comeback game.
Two of the most dynamic players the footballing world has ever seen, the rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo is set to continue for years, whereas it is only Pele who has the most goals to his name ahead of both the Portuguese and Argentinian internationals.
