Liverpool fans, we’d like to firstly extend a very warm welcome.
If you’ve come this far then you’re obviously looking to be fed the biggest headlines on one GMS-sized platter.
You’re in luck. Below we’ve collected the most intriguing stories to be found on the Reds. What do you know, it’s also in video format above. Enjoy.
Anfield has turned into dreamland since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp as new Liverpool manager, but fans might be surprised to learn that the German wasn’t the club’s first choice.
According to Harry Redknapp, sources have told him that Carlo Ancelotti was the priority candidate for FSG, with Klopp presumably only appointed after the Italian turned down the offer.
“I have heard from good sources that he [Ancelotti] was offered the Liverpool job,” the former Tottenham coach said.
“I don’t think [he wanted it]. They spoke to him at some stage.”
Even if true it makes very little difference to the Liverpool faithful, many of whom are already staunch Klopp supporters, but all the same it’s an interesting statement.
Moving on, Klopp supposedly outlined his plans for his Liverpool team moving forward to the nine first-team players who aren’t absent on international duty at training yesterday morning.
We can’t divulge what was said because honestly we don’t really know, but it’s sure to be no time at all before it becomes apparent.
Lastly, Stan Collymore has recently had his say on what sort of impact the arrival of Klopp might have - it isn’t good news for either Christian Benteke or Adam Lallana.
According to Collymore, Klopp could axe both men in favour of others. We’d say it’s unlikely - particularly on the Benteke front - but who knows.
