Despite having retired from pro wrestling several years ago, Stone Cold Steve Austin remains a big draw amongst the WWE Universe.
So, when reports over the past 24 hours suggested The Texas Rattlesnake was set to appear on next week's Monday Night Raw, the news was met with intrigue and delight by the organization's fans.
Unfortunately though, it now looks like those reports were wrong - Austin himself taking to Twitter this afternoon to confirm he would not be gracing the WWE ring on October 19th.

As Stone Cold alludes to in his tweet, WWE fans have known for a while now that he would be interviewing Lesnar for his podcast around the time on Raw.
However, it doesn't look like there any backstage plans to have the legendary wrestler takes things a step further and actually appear on the show.
To add to the confusion, the WWE's official website, according to NoDq.com, is still advertising Stone Cold for the show.
This is the second time in a matter of weeks that Austin has had to use his personal Twitter account to quash wrestling rumors.
Only last week, he used social media to condemn reports that had suggested he would boycott WrestleMania 32 if Michael “P.S.” Hayes wasn't inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
While Austin won't be on the show, next week's Raw will still see a number of big names on display. As well as Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker, Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels are scheduled to appear.
