Tyrod Taylor set to miss multiple games for Buffalo Bills

Since winning the starting job in the week leading up to the season, Buffalo Bills quarterback has been something of a revelation for the AFC East franchise.

Throwing for 1,097 yards and nine touchdowns, whilst adding 187 yards rushing and two TDs of his own, the former Ravens backup has allowed Buffalo fans to rest easy after an offseason of quarterback controversy.

But, just as Taylor was starting to build up a head of steam, it looks like injury is threatening to derail his - and perhaps Buffalo's - 2015 season.

After rumors surfaced that the QB was dealing with an injury, CBS reporter Jason La Canfora has now revealed that Taylor suffered an MCL sprain during Sunday's win over Tennessee, and could well miss multiple games.

With Taylor having been in such good form this season, the news that Buffalo are prepping EJ Manuel to start for the team's week six fixture against the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals is far from ideal.

Manuel struggled to lead the team as the starter in 2014, ultimately losing his job to veteran Kyle Orton. And, despite impressing at times during preseason, the thought of him back under center will concern Bills fans.

Still, having traded fellow backup Matt Cassell to the Dallas Cowboys last month, Buffalo have no other option should Taylor's injury be severe enough to keep him on the sidelines.

In something of a bizarre twist, Cassell could join Manuel as a starting quarterback for the NFL's sixth round of action this weekend, with the former Vikings man touted to replace Brandon Weeden in Dallas.
