Last April, Roman Reigns was given the opportunity to walk away from WrestleMania at the new WWE Heavyweight Champion.
Unfortunately for the former Shield member, thing's didn't turn out too well as he was defeated, first by Brock Lesnar, and then by Seth Rollins - taking a fairly brutal beating in the process.
But, speaking six months on from the 'Mania match, has Reigns now revealed a previously unknown issue that likely had a big impact on the main event drama?

Speaking in an interview with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, via NoDq.com, Reigns claimed that he was actually injured almost immediately after the bell rang to begin the WrestleMania match against Lesnar:
"Right off the get-go, I popped him and he scudded me up and ran me into the corner. I think right there I felt a rib shoot out of place. It was a struggle ever since that. From the get-go, I was hurt," Reigns explained.
Although the WWE Superstar admitted to being injured by The Beast Incarnate, he still feels he gave as good as he got:
"He was throwing me around. That’s his thing. But I was throwing bombs at the end. He did his thing, and I did mine.
"I think you saw a couple of juggernauts go at it. We didn’t get the finish we had hoped, but it was a hell of a fight — the best fight I’ve ever been in.”
While Rollins was always going to cash in at WrestleMania 31, the fact that Reigns was fighting injured perhaps explains the end to his and Lesnar's initial match.
Fortunately for Reigns, with Vince McMahon still a huge backer of his talents, it looks like he will get plenty of more chances to fight, and win, injury free at WrestleMania moving forward.
