Sevilla striker Fredi Kanoute hailed his side´s physical and mental strength after the Andalusian side downed Deportivo La Coruna 2-1 on Sunday to keep alive their treble dreams.

Sevilla did not have much time to recover from last Wednesday´s gruelling UEFA Cup final against Espanyol, and it looked set to be a challenge too far for the southern club when hosts Depor took a 72nd-minute lead through Rodolfo Bodipo´s superb volley, but Sevilla hit back in style, scoring twice in seven minutes through Dirnei Renato and Kanoute.

The win keeps Sevilla two points behind La Liga leaders Real Madrid and Barcelona, and Kanoute said: "Their goal was very tough on us mentally, but we have suffered and then scored twice. It was a very difficult game. We needed to be strong mentally and we have been strong. We have suffered a lot to get this result, because it has been a game with much intensity. At the end there was a lot of joy to get the three points."
