Chelsea wide-man Willian continued his fine start to the season with two goals for Brazil in their 3-1 win over Venezuela last night.

The 27-year-old has been a shining light in the Blues' drab start to the Premier League season, that sees the Stamford Bridge outfit lying 16th in the table.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk man has scored in four consecutive games for Chelsea and his continued form for the Seleção can only be a good thing as Jose Mourinho's men look to made amends for their poor form. (You can see the full highlights of Brazil's game by scrolling down)

The tricky winger opened the scoring after some shaky defending from the Venezuelan back-line. His shot from the edge of the box squeezed past Alain Baroja, who really should have done better.

He doubled Brazil's lead as he latched on to Felipe Luis' low cross, thanks to a brilliant dummy from Chelsea team-mate Oscar, to smash the ball into the top corner.

Christian Santos pulled one back for Venezuela before Ricardo Oliveira secured the points for Brazil to hand them their first victory of the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Following the game, Willian posted a picture on Instagram with the message: "Congratulations to the whole group by struggle and important victory. Congratulations also to the fans who trusted us and supported us at that time. Now is keep working to evolve. Thank you, sir!"

Despite scoring in four consecutive games for Chelsea, Willian has been unable to stop their slide down the table.

A tilt at the title already seems out of the defending champions' reach, but their top four hopes are in danger of fading away if they fall to more surprising defeats.

However, a game against lowly Aston Villa this weekend should offer the Blues the perfect opportunity to pick up three points.

Chelsea fans will be hoping their Brazilian star can continue his fine form, but will be praying the likes of Oscar and Eden Hazard can sort out their early season woes.
