Diego Costa happy with training schedule

Published 2 Comments

There should be no underestimating Diego Costa's latest comments ahead of his return to the Chelsea side this weekend.

After being handed a retrospective three-game ban by the FA, the enigmatic striker hasn't featured for the Stamford Bridge outfit on the Premier League scene recently.

Of course, throughout the campaign so far, it has all been a bit of a struggle for the Spain international. With just one goal in England's elite division, Costa has failed to hit top form under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.

However, after failing to secure a call up to the recent Spain squad, Costa claims that he has been able to benefit from his recent training schedule in west London.

As reported by the Evening Standard, speaking to Chelsea TV, Costa stated: “It’s been really important for me. I have been able to train with my own specific schedule to help me get better and better.

“The sessions have been good and I have been able to benefit from being here. I’ve been working on what I needed to work on and I am happy about that."

It's great news

The words of Costa should excite the Chelsea faithful, who have had to endure a torrid opening period to the season.

The likes of Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas, Nemanja Matic and Co. have all struggled for form, so the club's big hitters must start producing the goods.

Costa, of course, is one their key players, and he must now go on to shine over the coming weeks. With games against Aston Villa, West Ham and Stoke City on the horizon, a fully fit Costa has the ability to fire himself and his side into form.
