Sevilla coach Juande Ramos insisted his side deserved to become only the second club to defend the UEFA Cup after a dramatic 3-1 penalty shootout win over 10-man Espanyol at Hampden Park.

Keeper Andres Palop was the hero with three penalty saves after the game had ended 2-2 after extra time.

Ramos said: "I am proud, happy and satisfied. We were never behind, we were ahead twice and they caught up with us. We had chances to get the third goal but we weren´t able to close the game out."
