Chelsea fans, a very good day to you all.

With the international break now over and fans either rejoicing or revolting - depending on your nationality - we can look forward to regular club action resuming.

What comes with that? Well, gossip and news of course. Read on below for the latest on your team, or watch the video above.

Courtois boost

It may not be a coincidence that Chelsea’s abysmal start to the season has coincided with Thibaut Courtois’ knee injury, but fear not Blues fans the end to the issue is in sight.

The big Belgian has confirmed that his rehabilitation is going well and he could be back in action by December.

Courtois is planning on working closely with a physio as of this week, meaning that it won’t be too long before he’s available to play for Jose Mourinho once more.

"In terms of my knee, it's good," Courtois said.

"I'm doing my rehabilitation and it's progressing well.

"From tomorrow [Wednesday], I'll be starting the bulk of the work with my physio to come back as soon as possible.

"Of course I still have to be careful not to go too quickly. I should be back in December, all being well."

Whether or not Mourinho will still be in charge when he returns is another matter entirely.

Zouma in, Ivanovic out

In terms of this weekend, Mourinho could replace Branislav Ivanovic with Kurt Zouma for Chelsea’s clash against Aston Villa.

It appears the Special One is finally listening to the calls to drop Ivanovic, and given the Serbian’s woeful form so far this campaign we can’t really blame him. That's been helped, of course, by the fact that Ivanovic picked up an injury while on international duty.

Willian masterclass

Lastly, Willian stole the show for Brazil last night as he bagged a brace to help his country overcome a game Venezuela side.

The forward has been in good form for Chelsea since the start of the season but hasn’t been able to halt their slide down the Premier League table. Perhaps the international break is what was needed to lift the spirits at Stamford Bridge.
