Gareth Bale is ready to severe his ties with high-profile agent Jonathan Barnett over the disparaging comments he made about Cristiano Ronaldo, reports AS.
Barnett aimed a couple of indirect insults towards the three-time Ballon d'Or winner during an interview with the Guardian, suggesting Ronaldo and Bale struggle to get on.
“They don’t go out eating every night together, but it’s fine," he said. "There’s no hatred there. They’re complete opposites. I don’t think he [Bale] wants to be the best model in the world or the best underwear seller. That’s not him.”

Hardly the biggest insult Ronaldo has had to absorb, but it was enough to annoy Bale, who made a point of apologising to his Real Madrid team-mate upon his return from international duty on Thursday.
Ronaldo was receptive to Bale's apology and understands the Welshman has no control over what his agent says and where he says it. However, that doesn't change the fact that the 30-year-old was furious with Barnett's comments.
Bale seems to be equally annoyed, already starting the process of removing Barnett from his entourage. AS claim to have spoken to the agent, who, naturally, dismissed the report as "garbage". AS published it anyway.
No stranger to controversy
Barnett is certainly no stranger to controversy and has previous with regards to Bale and his stuttering Real Madrid career. It was only in April that Bale was forced to clarify his happiness at Los Blancos after Barnett claimed the Real Madrid players were not passing to him often enough.
"Real have to work with Gareth and pass the ball to him more," he told The Telegraph. "Give him more of the ball and let him show everybody what he's good at.
"He's going to be the best player at Real Madrid when his teammates work with him and help him. Hopefully, Real will come to terms with this."
Bale managed to quell the storm caused that time, but it seems Barnett's latest comments may have been the last straw.
