Mario Balotelli has wished Danny Ings a speedy recovery on Instagram after the Liverpool striker suffered a serious knee injury last week.
Taking to Instagram, Balotelli posted a photo of Ings in action for Liverpool, alongside the message: “Danny come back soon. You will come back stronger my friend. I wish you al [sic] the best and quick recovery.”
Balotelli’s post attracted hundreds of replies from Liverpool fans - some of whom you suspect wouldn’t be disappointed to see the Italy international back at Anfield next season now that Brendan Rodgers has made way for Jurgen Klopp.

Ings, meanwhile, is set to undergo knee surgery and could - according to the Daily Mail - be back in action before the end of the season.
It was initially feared that the former Burnley star, who arrived at Anfield as a free agent in the summer, would miss the rest of the 2015-16 campaign as well as next summer’s European Championships.
Ings faces tough battle to make Euro 2016
But Ings, who made his England debut last week, still has an outside chance of making Roy Hodgson’s squad for next summer’s showpiece tournament in France.
In order for that to happen, though, Ings will not only need to return to action well in advance of the tournament - but also score goals on a consistent basis for Liverpool and make an impact for England in their pre-Euro 2016 friendly matches.
Balotelli and Ings could reunite next season
There’s also a possibility that Balotelli and Ings could reunite at Anfield next season.
Balotelli, 25, has scored one goal in four Serie A appearances since returning to AC Milan on a season-long loan deal in the summer.
If Milan opt against re-signing Balotelli - which seems likely at this early stage - the controversial Italian will be heading back to Merseyside after Euro 2016.
