Manchester United battled to a 1-1 draw with CSKA Moscow and return from Russia with what could prove to be an invaluable point in their hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League.

However, many Manchester United fans on Twitter were less than impressed with the performance of their captain. The England international had one real clear-cut chance, but his header was straight at CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev.
Despite being quiet throughout the 90 minutes in Moscow, Rooney was offered very little support or service by his team-mates. But that did not stop fans from targeting the Red Devils captain following the draw.

MARTIAL OUT WIDE
Having won the Premier League Player of the Month for September, Martial has been moved out wide to replace Memphis Depay.
Despite his goal at Goodison Park, Rooney has struggled to lead the line for the Red Devils this season.
Louis van Gaal is lacking options in the left midfield position - Memphis is out of form and Ashley Young is injured - so it is clear to see why Martial has been shifted across.
It seems likely he will continue in the wide position for the Manchester derby to help nullify the threat of City's full-back.
But Rooney will need more support from his midfield if United are to gain the bragging rights over their city rivals.
